Harvest EXP

Grants bonus experience for harvesting fully-grown crops, on top of anything else farming already gives you.

How It Works

Breaking a fully-grown crop gives you a bit of extra XP directly, rather than dropping an orb you have to walk over and collect - so on a shared farm, the XP always goes to whoever actually harvested the crop, not whoever happens to be standing closest. This only happens in Survival or Adventure mode.

For crops that grow in stages - wheat, carrots, potatoes, nether wart, cocoa, and similar - you only get XP once the crop has fully matured; breaking an immature crop gives nothing. Crops like melon and pumpkin always give XP when broken, since the block itself only appears once it's grown.

When a harvest pays out XP, you may also hear a sound effect and see a message like "+2 Farming XP (Wheat)" pop up on your screen. This XP feeds into your normal enchanting level - there's no separate farming level or leaderboard.
